Ganesh Himal Trek

Ganesh Himal lies in the north-west of Kathmandu. Ganesh Himal Trek falls in the region between Bhotekoshi-turned-Trishuli River in the east and Budhigandaki River in the West and the trail passes along the Ganesh Himal Range. The trek can extend up to Gorkha bazaar crossing the Budhigandaki River upon the interest of the trekkers.

Ganesh Himal Range has almost half dozen peaks all of which go by the name Ganesh Himal. Ganesh I (7401m) is the highest among them, while Ganesh V (6986) is the lowest.

During the trek you will pass through several passes above 4000 m. The trek can be considered somewhere between moderate to difficult.

During the trek you can get excellent views of these peaks in the Ganesh Himal Range. You can also get views of mountains like Manaslu and Annapurna in the west and Lantang, Gaurishankar and Dorje Lhakpa in the east.

The trekking trail passes through sub-temperate forests with pine, bamboo and oak trees and ethnic settlements inhabited by Tamangs, Gurungs and Chhetris.

The trek is relatively unexplored compared to the bitten paths in Everest, Langtang and Annapurna region. The natural heritage and the traditional culture are preserved with little or no exposure to the external world's modernisms.

Since there are no hotels and lodges on the way, the only option to trek in the Ganesh Himal region is to carry tents, sleeping bags and cooking utensils. When you book a trek with us, we will arrange for the logistics and the manpower required for your camping trek.
