Nepal Tourism Board, also popularly known as NTB in short, is a government authorized board for tourism activities in Nepal. It is a board established by the government which keeps the entire necessary directory regarding tourism in Nepal. Nepal Tourism Board looks after the entire tourism activities in Nepal as it provides the visiting tourists with all the information required during their stay in Nepal regarding the trekking routes and other things. NTB also provides the prospective tourists with the trekking permit required for trekking in many of the itineraries in Nepal. The restricted area trekking in Nepal like the Upper Mustang Trekking, the Dolpo Trekking, Kanchenjunga Trekking etc. require special trekking permits which are provided by the NTB. And the Nepal Tourism Board also provides the permit for other popular trekking sites like the Annapurna Trekking, Everest Trekking or the Langtang Trekking. Nepal Tourism Board comes under the purview of Nepal’s Ministry for Civil Aviation and Tourism. With the directions from the Ministry, the Nepal Tourism Board steers the tourism-related activities in the country. Overall, the activities of Nepal Tourim Board have been satisfactory as it has helped in developing tourism related activities in Nepal and has greatly flourished the industry of domestic tourism in the country. However, like any other organization in Nepal, NTB is also not spared of corruption and other issues as it has been plagued by reports of corruption and ineptness on the part of the board to effectively execute tourism related activities in Nepal. The appointment of board members directly by the government has also raised doubt amongst the tourism enthusiasts as they believe somebody with no technical expertise of tourism cannot help to upgrade the status of domestic tourism in the country.

It is one of the mostly followed activities amongst the tourists as they want to get a glimpse of the mountain peaks out of which eight are present in Nepal which are above eight thousands meters of altitude. Paragliding from Sarankot of Pokhara is quite popular and also a unique activity for the foreigners and domestic travelers.
