Kathmandu-Pokhara Biking Tour - Days

This trip will be an enriching one in that you travel across different kinds of landscapes, observing different ethnic communities in a relatively short span of time. You also travel across a wider geographical area while traveling from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The trail is basically an old trade route that connected Kathmandu with Pokhara in the olden days when the highway was not constructed.  

Itinerary Detail:

DAY 1: KATHMANDU – NUWAKOT  
On the first day, we start by riding northwards to the Shivapuri Nagarjuna National Park leaving behind the chaos of Kathmandu valley. After observing the famous temple of Budhanilkantha, a famous temple with a large statue of lord Bishnu lying on a serpent bed, at the foothills of Shivapuri, we start riding up the mountain to the National Park. Once we enter the national park we ride through the rocky trail amid a dense forest. We can observe many beautiful birds and animals in the jungle. Once we reach Shivapuri peak, we get beautiful views of various summits including Langtang. After resting at the peak for a while, we start a steep downhill climb to reach the Likhu Khola. We rest for a while at the banks of the Likhu Khola take some refreshments and ride further up to the Nuwakot Durbar. Nuwakot Durbar is a historic place built by late King Prithvi Narayan Shah, who united Nepal into a single nation from numerous smaller nations and principalities scattered here and there. From Nuwakot Durbar you can get breathtaking views of the Trishuli and Tadi rivers and also the mountains in the north.

DAY 2: NUWAKOT-DHADING BESI
From Nuwakot Durbar, we climb down to Trishuli and then gradually climb up 3 Kilometers to Raisingh, along the dirt road. We further climb up to Samari observing the local villagers cultivating potatoes, cauliflower, carrot, and cabbage on their fields depending on the season. From Samari we ride further to Taskbar and then to Automate. From Automate we ride down to a small town of Dhadingbesi, where we spent the night. 
In the Dhadingbesi you can observe the culture of various ethnic groups particularly the Tamangs.

DAY 3: DHADING BESI-GORKHA
You ride along a metal-topped road from Dhadingbesi to Muralibhanjyang from where a dirt road leads you to Tallo Rampur. You can observe great Tars (flat land in the river-valleys). You continue biking to the banks of Budhi Gandaki River. After crossing Budhi Gandaki River at Bungkotghat, you ride up a gradual uphill road to Gorkha, another historic town from where the unification of Nepal began. In the evening you can observe some of the historic places of Gorkha including the Gorkha Durbar.

DAY 4: GORKHA –SUNDAR BAZAR
You start the ride with a short ride on metal-topped road down the hill and digress towards river Daraudi. Once you cross river Daraudi at Chhepetar you ride on a dirt trail towards Sundarbazaar of Lamjung observing several Tars and jungles on the way. You reach Sundarbazaar after crossing another river Chepe

DAY 5: SUNDER BAZAR TO POKHARA
The final day of the trip will be probably the most exciting one as you can get some of the best views and ride along some exotic places like Lake Begnas. You can see Mount Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and other mountains Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. 
We stay overnight at Pokhara, a city filled with beauty. You can choose to spend a day or two savouring the beauty of Pokhara, trek or bike further towards the Annapurna or Shyanja regions or return to Kathmandu.
